Hours: Monday-Friday 05:00 - 15:00 (including a 60 minute unpaid break), 45 hours a week
Main Responsibilities
Check tyres, brakes, lights, oil, water and fuel levels and general condition of all vehicles driven during the shift;
· Drive vehicle from depot to loading/unloading point;
· Assist with loading/unloading and ensure that load is evenly distributed and safely secured;
· Drive vehicle to destination in accordance with schedule;
· Maintain records of journey times, mileage and hours worked;
· Undertake minor repairs and notifies supervisor of any mechanical faults.
· Undertake to complete all appropriate Radioactive Paperwork as required
· Adhere to all Radioactive Regulations as required by Law and Company Policy
· Liaise ongoing with both Circle Express Glasgow depot and Aberdeen depot to allocate work
· Ensure safe working practices as required by Health and Safety ion all radioactive freight movements
· To complete all deliveries within time restrictions
People & Communication
· Developing positive relationships with clients, colleagues and team members and supporting the Warehouse and Traffic personnel
· Supporting the Warehouse Manager and Traffic Managers in attaining their goals
· Establishing and maintaining the trust and support of colleagues, managers and teams
· Promoting good working practices and procedures with particular reference to the Company’s BSI/ISO standards
· Acting responsibly towards colleagues and team members in relation to regulations and requirements in respect of Health and Safety and Aviation Security
Essential Skills
· Preferred ADR trained driver which includes Class 7
· The job requires the ability to read and understand instructions, short correspondence and memos.
· The job requires the ability to write simple reports and completion of paperwork pertaining to the position.
· The job requires the ability to communicate effectively in both one to one and small group settings with colleagues, customers and employees
Unacceptable endorsements: Drink or drugs related endorsements within the past 10 years, any disqualifications in the past 5 years and any codes on licence with prefix: IN CD, DD, DR, and BA
