Do you have prior experience of working in a payroll environment? Are you confident, and accurate, when working with figures? If so this 2 year fixed term and part time (30 hours per week) Pay Clerk post could be ideal.
In this role you will ensure the accurate and efficient day to day administration of the Resourcelink HR/Payroll system for a designated section of the University payroll. You will work closely, as part of a team of Pay Clerks and Pensions staff, to ensure the complete processing of the payroll on a month to month basis including statutory and occupational payment requirements.
As Pay Clerk you will:
- Provide a full payroll function to the University staff, including developing effective relationship with internal departments
- Take proactive responsibility within the Payroll & Pensions department of day to day administration of the Payroll
- Carry out accurate preparation and production of monthly payroll data in Resourcelink (the HR system) from the start of employment through to leaving, including issue of P45
To be successful in this role you will have/be:
- Educated to GCSE English and maths (grade C or above) or equivalent
- Proven experience of working in a payroll environment
- Good working knowledge of payroll statutory requirements including PAYE, NI contributions, SMP, SSP and Student Loan repayments
- Good working knowledge of the application of payroll deductions in respect of pension contributions
