Job description
A Quantitative Intern supports the Quantitative Analysts or Quantitative Research team in their tasks.
Responsibilities
- Collect, process, and analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
- Develop mathematical models to solve complex financial problems, or support the improvement of existing models.
- Write code to implement quantitative methods and develop software tools for the team.
- Conduct quantitative research on market trends, economic data, or other relevant subjects.
- Assist in preparing reports that summarize research findings and analysis.
- Work closely with other team members, including quantitative analysts, data scientists, and traders, to achieve project goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics.
- Strong skills in programming languages such as Python, R, C++, Java, or SQL. Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and data analysis libraries can be beneficial.
- Ability to solve complex problems using mathematical modeling and data analysis.
- Understanding of financial concepts, markets, and instruments can be a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex quantitative ideas and research findings to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail when dealing with large datasets and complex calculations.
