Swan EMS is expanding and looking to recruit a Quality Technician.
A key member of the Quality Department, this is a cross-functional role with an objective of ensuring product excellence and continual improvement through risk assessments, the use of proven quality tools and teaming with Production Engineering, Production and Supply Chain personnel.
This role has wide and developing scope and is a Customer and Supplier facing role to ensure that manufactured product is realised in accordance with the customers’ expectations and that all requested release documentation is present, accurate and supplied.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY TASKS:
Supporting the Group Quality Manager you will oversee all Quality and Environmental activity within the Swan EMS site. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Hosting audits from Customers and Certification bodies.
- Internal auditing including other sites within the EC Electronics group.
- Driving root cause investigations and resulting corrective and preventive actions.
- Identifying risk to product quality and working with the Quality and Engineering departments to drive timely resolution.
- Involvement in New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Collation, analysing and reporting site quality data / KPIs and driving timely corrective actions and improvement with the relevant teams.
- Informing Group Quality Manager of any local changes required to documented Quality and Environmental Management System.
- Work cross functionally to drive quality principles into every aspect of our business, Monitoring the production line and doing periodic Quality Control checks.
- Working with the departmental Managers to ensure CAPA process is being adhered to and all documentation is being filled out correctly.
- Supporting the Production Team in reducing scrap, ensuring a full investigation is conducted to understand root cause.
- Training new and current Quality Inspectors.
- Promoting a culture of excellence through positive approach and coaching.
Person Specification:
- A self-starter, a formal qualification in a relevant discipline would be beneficial but thorough knowledge and working experience SPC and general production processes in a Cable and Electro-Mechanical Assembly environments is essential.
- Must have a flexible attitude to changing demands, operational needs and business direction.
- A Team Player.
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Word, Excel (preferably statistics) and Visio.
- Commercial awareness.
- A clear communicator with ability to train others.
- An attention to detail.
- An ability to think through situations and provide solutions.
- An ability to confront and solve difficult situations.
- A passport holder with willingness to work in ECs global sites and suppliers, subject to travel restrictions.
