The Company – GTS Flexible Materials Ltd.
GTS was established in 1967 for the supply of electrical laminates and heat activated adhesive tapes to the flexible printed circuit industry.
We have since become one of Europe’s leading and most progressive designers and manufacturers of flexible circuit materials and adhesive coatings with a reputation for quality, reliability, and durability.
GTS materials, supplied worldwide, have unlimited applications including flexible printed circuitry for use primarily in the automotive industry and insulating materials for power generation. Growth markets include the electric / hybrid vehicle market and the renewable energy sector.
GTS has three manufacturing / warehousing units in Ebbw Vale and has been based on the Rassau Industrial Estate since 1991, with subsidiary offices in Germany and France servicing its wide export business requirements. GTS also has significant levels of business in China and Korea demonstrating the Company’s global reach.
The Company has recently received investment from Growth Capital Partners, an independent private equity firm which invests in growing UK businesses, and has exciting growth plans.
Job Title offered – Quality Technician
Based at the main Rassau Plant, the vacancy will be permanent subject to a satisfactory probationary period.
Responsibilities/Duties
You will work as a member of the Quality Department team.
You will be involved in:
· Testing and release of Raw, WIP (work-in-progress), and Finished Goods.
· The inspection of products during manufacturing in all areas to ensure compliance with internal and customer standards.
· Support of Continuous Improvement projects, working with mixed discipline teams.
· Carrying out Process and Product Audits.
· Support Quality Improvement Programs and initiatives.
Full training will be given on the tools needed to add value in the above activities.
Requirements
· Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C or above including Maths, English and Science.
· BTEC or above in Engineering/Manufacturing/Science although not essentially would be an advantage.
· 2 years plus experience within a manufacturing Quality or laboratory environment.
· Knowledge of IATF 16949.
· Evidence of Continuous Improvement experience
· Good problem-solving skills and experiences.
· Knowledge and experience of Business Improvement Techniques including 5S and/or Six Sigma would be an advantage but not essential.
- Proficient with MS Office.
· Efficient, accurate and organised
Hours
Training and probation period is typically 3-6 months for this position where the QC Technician will follow a day’s shift pattern.
On successful completion of the probation period the QC Technician will be employed on 12-hour, 7-day continental shift pattern (24/7) which includes days and nights shift.
