A look into the role
Our Quality Supervisor will ensure fresh food products and suppliers meet Henderson Group specifications in relation to food safety, legality, quality, freshness, and sustainability. This is an invaluable role in the continued development of the Group’s total quality management agenda with specific focus on fresh food.
This position will be well suited to a Quality Supervisor with sound knowledge of all things food safety.
As Quality Supervisor you will:
- Police required specification from own brand supply and the receiving standards from all suppliers
- Develop and manage quality conformance targets and communication of KPI metrics to the supply base with support from Group Quality Assurance Manager
- Maintain a record of supplier non-conformances and corrective actions and ensure these are sufficiently investigated to prevent re-occurrence
- Perform internal warehouse hygiene and GMP audits to ensure standards remain at the highest standard
- Bench mark product standards against specification and market equivalents
- Follow up of complaints with suppliers and respond to customer on incidents where relevant
- Issue alert notices and follow up on product recalls with suppliers if necessary
Skills for Success
- ND/ HNC / HND or degree (or equivalent) in a food related discipline
- Level 2 Food Hygiene
- Clean UK Driving License
- Previous QA Experience in Manufacturing or Warehouse environment
- Knowledge of food safety system HACCP, GMP and hygiene standards
- Strong MS Office skills
- Capacity to use initiative and think analytically
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Allergen training
- Level 3 Food Hygiene
- HACCP Level 3
- Level 2 Internal Audit
- Experience within Warehouse and Distribution of FMCG
- Experience in business improvement projects

We value work/life balance. This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 7:45am-3:45pm Monday to Thursday and 7:45am-2:45pm Friday. Hybrid & flexible working available.
