Job description
Acumen Waste Services operates a fleet of collection vehicles for the transport of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste as well as maintaining various sites and facilities across the treatment and bulking of waste for disposal.
AWS operational spectrum covers Covering Soil Treatment, Liquid Treatment, Hazardous Waste Transfer and Logistics. AWS also provides Industrial Site Services to high-risk customers requiring delicate handling of Hazardous material with a beginning to end cleaning of service of tanks, HFO Lines and asbestos collation as well as other high risk waste removal.
AWS meets ISO Accreditations to ISO 45001, 14001 & 9001 and is complimented under a SHE IMS
You will be responsible for, however, not limited to:
· Report to the Beauparc Regional SHEQ Manager on current culture, statistics and standing issues;
· Provide positive assistance on HSEQ issues, spending appropriate time in the office and externally to adequately address issues and monitor compliance;
· Carry out audits and inspections on site where required and ensure non-conformances are investigated fully and closed out;
· Feed into the tender stage and assist in project set up, pre-planning and derivation of safe systems of work;
· Assist in development of risk registers and assessments;
· Assist in matrix development, ongoing monitoring and delivery of training;
· Carry out reactive monitoring including accident, incident & near miss investigations through the Evotix Assure system;
· Assist in the assessment of sub-contractors and suppliers;
· Assist in the management of Acumen’s ISO management systems and accreditation process;
· Manage all aspects of HSEQ requirements through Disposal and Assure;
· Liaise with external bodies, organisations and positively represent Acumen as required;
· Prepare information for inclusion in the weekly regional meetings
· Lead with Induction of all staff and record keeping via Human Focus
· Deliver health and safety training;
· Manage and maintain the Assure reporting admin facility
· Conduct Quality Audits in order to maintain compliance against SHE IMS
· Provide guidance and management to the HSE Administrator.
· NEBOSH General Certificate - minimum qualification
· Membership of IOSH or equivalent professional body.
· A minimum of 1 years in a HSE advisory role
· Environmental qualification to L3 desirable
· Experience of proactively engaging with key operational managers to influence and deliver HSE improvements
· A strong understanding of the HS&E legal framework and the key elements of ensuring compliance to those standards
· Understanding of H&S and Environmental Management systems and previous experience of ISO certification desirable
· Previous trainer experience highly desirable
· Experience of Multi site operations
