SMS- Smart Manufacturing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Inspector to join our team and work at one of our sites based in Sunderland.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a process-driven individual who has a passion for the Automotive world that can support 1,2 & 3 shift working patterns due to 24-hour operations with potential weekend working.

  • Day Shift - 7:00am - 15:00pm @ £10.60ph
  • Night Shift - 15:00pm - 11:00pm @ £11.10ph
  • Overnight Shift - 11:00pm - 7:00am @ £13.50ph

What you'll be doing

The Purpose of this role asa quality inspector is to carry out both visual inspection and dimensional inspections in Automotive components with the aid of written work instructions and measurement tools in order to assist our clients to achieve and continue to deliver the best quality components to the top Automotive brands in the UK.

  • Working within strict policies and procedures to support our customers, not only in Aycliffe but thorough out the Northeast.;
  • Ensure the quality standards of the client are consistently met and compliant with the Specifications
  • You will be joining an established quality team and will be responsible for inspection activities on components and assemblies,
  • Encourage continuous improvement across the Projects
  • Recording data on our application to support timely, effective and concise reporting
  • Confident and enthusiastic

Physical Demands- The role involves the following physical demands on a daily basis:

  • Standing and/or walking during the duration of a shift
  • Lifting and moving products up to 15.5kg in weight/ Pushing and pulling product up to 15.5kg in weight during the duration of a shift
  • Lifting, bending, reaching above the head, kneeling, crouching, and/or stretching during the duration of a shift
  • Manual dexterity of both hands and wrists
