Role Summary:
In this role you will be part of a team who are responsible for the inspection of all parts manufactured within the Polar Technology Group (SST Technology and Lentus Composites). We are looking for a highly capable individual who can both carry out critical dimensional and visual inspection of all components, working to established processes to control outgoing and incoming materials and components to the business. Where applicable, supporting the definition of new quality procedures will be a part of the role. A positive, pro-active approach is critical, as is the ability to work to rapidly changing requirements under extremely tight timescales.
Key Responsibilities
- To ensure that all of the products leaving the business are fully conforming, fit for purpose and meet the Quality standard as set by SST Technology, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Operate all machinery, equipment and tools associated with the role, including:
- CMM running PC-DMIS
- Romer Inspection Arms running PolyWorks
- Conventional measurement equipment
- Sign off all products at key stages during manufacture and prior to delivery to customers.
- Define and manage the inspection system for Jigs so they are ready, built and correct when required.
- Manage the calibration log/system for all equipment that require calibration.
- Manage non-conformance and respective logs for product found during internal manufacture and customer/supplier returns, and liaise with customers and suppliers where necessary.
- Support in the development of inspection processes throughout the business.
Personal Specification
- Enthusiastic and flexible in performing a wide range of tasks within and sometimes outside of their standard job description.
- Clear open two-way communication skills, with an approachable, positive and pro-active attitude.
- Methodical approach to problem solving, with excellent attention to detail.
- Familiar with all Geometric Tolerancing, and adept at reading and understanding engineering drawings.
- Experience of CMM Programming (using PC-DMIS), and Faro or Romer Arm programming (using PolyWorks) would be desirable.
- Experience of NDT techniques, CAD/CAM Programming, PolyWorks 3D Scanning Software is also desirable for this role.
- NDT Level 2 certification in fluorescent and/or visible penetrant is desirable.
