kff have a fantastic opportunity for a Quality Inspector to join the team on a full-time permanent basis based at our Aylesford office, reporting to the Technical Manager. This is a Monday – Friday role working 8.30am – 5pm.
The role is primarily focused on ensuring that we maintain great quality to our customers which will includes liaising and monitoring customer complaints to ensure that all actions are customer focused. Quality Inspectors are responsible for the quality of fresh product to specification.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Document the quality of product delivered and during storage
- Reject product that fails to meet specifications and standards
- Work as part of the Quality/Technical team in ensuring high standards are met with a view to continual improvement
- Check rejected produce are isolated for return
- Ensure that systems and procedures are adhered to
- Respond to daily delivery issues regarding quality.
- Cover other Quality areas where necessary
- Responding to customer complaints and ensuring the monitoring of the suppliers and product causing complaints
- To work in a team-based environment where all managers/employees work together for the good of the business
- Through the department provide ongoing intelligence/data/information that can be used by other departments in order to make more informed decisions
- Ensure that all applicable legislation (H&S, Hygiene, BRC, etc) for a modern food business are in place and adhered to by all and that any violations are reported to your business.
- Specific projects or activities as directed by your line manager.
- Ensure produce and other product categories accepted into the business and stored within the business is deemed 'Fit for Purpose' and is within specification
About you:
The successful candidate will preferably have worked in a food manufacturing environment and have knowledge of QA/QC and have H&S certification, or willing to work to obtain this. This role would suit someone who has excellent written and verbal communication skills in particular report writing and experience working to BRC standards is highly advantageous. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and have a flexible working approach to enable them to be customer focused and solutions driven. Having a product knowledge of fruit and vegetables is also highly desirable.
