Job description
The quality assurance engineer has direct contact with the quality manager. Quality Engineers (QE) guarantee that customer, supplier, and internal complaints are addressed in a way that meets both internal and external expectations. QE also guarantees that the company's Quality Management System meets customer, internal, ISO/TS 16949, and regulatory/legal criteria.
Responsibilities
- Communication (verbal or written) with internal and external customers and suppliers on a daily basis.
- For reported or recognized concerns, lead and manage customer, internal, and supplier root cause analysis and countermeasure efforts.
- Conduct internal and external (supplier) audits on a regular basis in accordance with IATF 16949 standards.
- To effectively create a strong supplier relationship, you must first understand the needs and expectations of your customers.
- Microsoft systems are used on a daily basis (Word, Power Point, Excel).
- Develop, maintain, and grow good partnerships by interacting with suppliers.
- Provide qualified suppliers with monthly supplier performance reports.
- For product validation, conduct process and product capability studies as needed.
- On a daily basis, assist Department Managers and members of the production team.
- Document root cause and countermeasure actions in the 8D, Honda 5P, Why/Why Analysis format as requested by the customer.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Prior experience as a Customer or Supplier Quality Engineer with direct customer contact.
- Strong Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and problem-solving approaches skills aimed at determining the true root cause or rationale for the problem.
- Corrective and preventative action (CAPA, sometimes known as corrective action / preventive action, or just corrective action) is a type of process improvement used to reduce the causes of non-conformities and other unpleasant circumstances in an organization.
- Demonstrated ability to act freely when confronted with unclear facts and make decisions that influence decision-making and outcomes.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft operating system are required (Word, Power Point, Excel).
- Typing skills are excellent.
- Expert in the use of calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Bolt Manufacturing processes (Heading, threading, heat treat and plating).
- Experience conducting Internal and External Audits per ISO, TS or preferable IATF 16949 Standards.
