Our plant located in Oxnard, California is looking to hire an exceptional individual to work within our Quality Assurance department. This site manufactures products under the Family Care umbrella business unit, specifically SKUs for the Bounty & Charmin brands. The Oxnard site was originally built in 1969 and is located in the Greater Los Angeles area along the coast of beautiful Southern California between Malibu and Santa Barbara. This Quality Engineer role is an individual contributor that has responsibility for the development, implementation, monitoring and improvement of site quality systems related to procedures, and standards, KPIs, continuous improvement, capability and development of the Family Care organization. You'll have with direct responsibility for on-site Quality Assurance labs and product disposition recommendations. Other work streams include supporting external and internal QA assessments. Our QA Systems include delivering and sustaining GMPs, consumer comments / complaints, learning & development, investigations, as well as approval of validations. This specific QA group is comprised 3 employees between the engineer and technician levels.
The position is on-site Monday through Friday, with a typical start time between 6:30 - 7 am.
We offer a paid relocation package for candidates located more than 50 miles from the site.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Project Management experience including troubleshooting and optimization.
Conducting consumer complaint investigations & root cause analyses
QA Change Management / Interface with QA Operations
Evaluate equipment and process to reduce costs and improve production rates
Ensures equipment is appropriately qualified and/or validated for intended use, works with Quality and Technical Groups to develop and execute protocols.
Ensure processes comply with cleaning, safety, quality, and sanitization standards
Site Temperature and Humidity Controls owner
Site Lab Equipment Owner (Papermaking, Converting, & Labs).
QA group budget ownership

Qualifications
Technical Core Competencies:
Basic understanding of quality programs and understanding of how to pull technical standards such as: formula cards, making instructions, packing instructions. Candidates should have foundational experience with key manufacturing business processes such as Quality Assurance, and Process Control principles and practices. Candidates should also demonstrate troubleshooting knowledge about quality relates losses (QRL).
You're a good fit if:
- You have at a Bachelors degree in Engineering (Chemical, Paper, Mechanical, Industrial etc...)
- You have 2-6 years of Engineering / QA experience with industrial or manufacturing operations
- Experience serving as point of contact for internal and external audits
- You have proven effective GMP implementation capability
- Candidates should have proficiency in computer systems Microsoft Word and Excel. Skills in Veeva, PowerApps, Power BI etc... are preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with and / or certification(s) for ISO 9001 standards is a plus, but not required
- You have strong leadership to implement culture changes and adherence to standards
- You have demonstrated leadership and communication skills both verbal and written at an individual level and team.
Just so you know:
Starting Salary Range: $85K - $115K
