Overview
Quality Control Team Member
Quality Control Team Memeber
Location – Sacrewell Farm, Peterborough.
More than just a veg box….
Riverford are mad about organic veg. It’s at the core of everything we do. We love to grow it, pack it into boxes, and deliver it to around 90,000 homes across the UK every week.
This takes loads of brilliant people – and working here makes you a ‘co-owner’, since Riverford is employee owned. Success means much more than just profits; we want this to be a place people enjoy coming to work, and a business our co-owners feel proud of!
In 2021, we were delighted to be awarded two-star Best Companies accreditation, recognising Riverford as an ‘outstanding’ place to work.
What you’ll be doing…
Every Riverford customer should receive exceptionally high quality in their box, and we rely on the diligence, care and attention of our Quality Control team to deliver this. It will be your responsibility to ensure that all items delivered to our site, and used as part of our production process, meet our specifications and quality standards.
You will be scrutinising each and every item that comes through the department, conducting comprehensive assessments such as brix (sugar levels), pressure and shelf life tests. Growing produce for flavour is important to us at Riverford so tasting the produce to ensure it meets our standards will form an important step in your product assessments. You will produce quality reports detailing your assessment data, which you will communicate to internal teams and external suppliers alike. Working with growers and farmers is an important and rewarding part of the role and you will be helping them to understand our requirements and deliver exceptional crops for us to pack.
Your role will expose to you to various departments around production. It will be part of your responsibilities to clearly communicate and set expectations for quality around the business.
This is a great opportunity to learn and develop, becoming a real expert in organic fresh produce and a quality champion for the business.
