The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.
Summary of position:
The day-to-day role concentrates on overseeing and ensuring the product validation and certification in line with AS9100/AS9110 and CAA/EASA Part 21/145 within the quality team.
The Quality Control Supervisor will also work closely with the manufacturing teams at Runcorn and where relevant with Manufacturing Engineering, Design and Procurement Departments to facilitate the Non-conformance Management Process within specific project teams. As a Quality Control Supervisor, you need to ensure these communication channels are fully utilised across the team.
Main responsibilities:
- Organising the quality control team to achieve sign off requirements
- Management of quality control tasks, ensuring compliance to Audit Plan, Shop floor “spot check” sheets, FAIR’s, Operation sheets and Inspection
- Developing and managing team projects based on annual objectives in line with the business strategy
- Lead and manage program specific projects to mitigate risks and reduce inefficiencies within quality and potential non conformances
- Training and developing new starters within quality for MRO/OE area’s
- Ensuring compliance with standards from regulatory authorities
- Promoting improving quality standards by participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Department procedures including technique sheets and standard operating procedures.
- Ensuring product conformity
- Support the Quality Manager to ensure disciplined quality systems are applied
- Familiarity & working knowledge of CAA Part 21G, EASA Part 145, AS9110/AS9110
- 5 Years Aerospace experience
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with exposure to a process environment operating under BSI standards
- Extensive working knowledge of hydraulic components and assemblies
- Basic Computer skills
- Detail Orientated
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CMM’s
- Good oral and written communication skills
- FAA Experience,
- RCCA, 8D, 5Y analysis
- Strong mechanical/technical aptitude
