Quality Control Engineer (Nuclear)
Location: Warrington


The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting a Quality Control Engineer to join a Civil Engineering business that works within the Nuclear sector.

Details of the role:

  • Negotiable rate, Inside IR35
  • Approx. 12-Month Contract
  • Location, Warrington
  • Hybrid working

Job Overview:

We are looking for a Quality Control Engineer to provide independent quality inputs to the delivery of projects and contracts, by ensuring advice and support is given to the Engineering/project teams with regards to defining quality control and inspections requirements within design documentation and effective inspection of equipment delivered to our customers

The Project Quality Control Engineer will carry out inspection assignments as and when required, and undertake specific activities on behalf of the quality team as required.

What you will need:

Knowledge:

  • Good working knowledge of the Nuclear industry
  • Good working knowledge of all relevant regulations and legislation
  • Good working knowledge of the Customer's quality requirements
  • Good working knowledge and application of ISO 9001
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes

Experience:

  • Have completed a manufacturing apprenticeship supported with EITB NVQ's.
  • Involved in the manufacture, assembly and testing of turnkey specialist assemblies.
  • Have experience in Quality Control Plans and Inspection & Test Plans.
  • Have experience preferably gained within a similar role in the Nuclear or other highly regulated industry in the following areas:
    • Fabrication and welding techniques
    • NDT techniques
    • Mechanical Inspection
    • Electrical assembly and testing
    • Reviewing material certification

  • Ability to work as a team or on their own initiative
  • Computer literate with experience in using software packages relevant to the role e.g. word, excel, outlook, internet, etc
  • The ability to produce accurate and appropriate information (e.g. reports, data, etc.) in a timely manner
  • Proactively contributes ideas for change
  • Continually seeks to improve working practice, performance and productivity
  • Actively promotes health and safety
Other:
  • Ideally, be qualified to an HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject e.g. engineering
  • Weld inspection qualification - CSWIP 3.1 or PCL Level 2 (WI)
  • Have auditor training
  • Willing to travel to locations/sites throughout the UK and occasionally overseas
