IRCA is a leading international provider of semi-finished ingredients for the bakery, pastry and gelato markets, serving independent producers as well as large food manufacturers (e.g. CPG). Core products include chocolate, chocolate decorations, creams, pastry mixes, gelato ingredients, and other bakery / pastry ingredients.
The Company, headquartered in Italy, was acquired by Advent International, the global Private Equity firm, in July 2022, and has a strong track record of growth over the last decade. IRCA has made 2 bolt-on acquisitions in the areas of candied fruits (Cesarin) and pistachio ingredients (Anastasi) in 2022, and recently acquired a leading manufacturer of sweet and cereal products in Europe and the US. The target’s business focuses on high-value add specialty ingredients for the Food Manufacturers segment, with a portfolio that incorporates a range of products including sweet particulates, chocolate confections, baked inclusions, variegates and fruit purées.
This transformative deal created a global leader in the semi-finished ingredients industry, with 22 manufacturing facilities in Europe, US and Vietnam and a combined €1 billion of revenues (2022)
Purpose of Position:
To carryout appropriate product safety checks/audits and quality related administration to ensure consistent manufacturing best practice, and that the quality of production meets with the prevailing standards/specifications acceptable to our customers.
- Lead taste panels with the site teams to ensure high standards of quality are maintained
- Complete calibration of equipment to ensure our legal compliance
- Work cross-functionally to drive improvement in factory standards to exceed our customer and regulatory expectations
- Assist in the investigation of complaints including the necessary reporting, returned materials evaluation & reporting, communication and corrective actions, as per the site customer complaint procedure.
- Continuously improve standards set by facilitating and executing appropriate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Methodologies such as 8 Step Practical Problem Solving within the Production Stream and other site functions.
- Perform routine factory-based food safety and quality standards inspections and audits including (but not an exhaustive list): Fabrication inspections, GMP, Hygiene Verification audits, Foreign body inspections, layered confirmation audits, logging all non-conformances
- Provide guidance, education and support to the department being audited to enable them to self-inspect and ensure they understand the standards required.
- Deliver quality focused training to the production teams

Salary: £30,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
