Job description

Kent based Totally Natural Solutions are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Officer to join the expanding team, reporting to the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Manager.

Bringing a naturally engaging style to liaise with all departments in the organisation to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly. Thriving on a challenge and delivering exceptional attention to detail even under pressure. Skilled at promoting compliance, conformity and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have experience within a Quality Assurance department in either brewing, food manufacturing or pharmaceutical industries with experience of ISO standards.

Part time (pro rata) considered to cover minimum of 25 hours per week.

25 days holiday and Company Pension scheme after qualifying period

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and advise on all aspects of the Quality Management System
  • Liaise with managers and staff throughout the organisation to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly
  • Support both internal and external audit programme and conduct audits
  • Assist in risk management processes
  • New supplier evaluation/qualification
  • Product Batch Record Reviews
  • Initiate action to prevent non-conformity and implement actions accordingly
  • Produce data and report on performance, measuring against set standards
  • Demonstrable understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements for ISO9001, FSC22000 or BRC standards
  • Internal auditor trained
  • Drive full compliance to Food Safety, Legal and Quality Systems
  • Support strategic business goals by planning, directing, and coordinating the activities

Key skills:

  • Qualified, trained and experienced in the development and implementation of food safety management systems based on HACCP principles.
  • Capable of leading all aspects of product development and production from a food safety, quality and legality standpoint

Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a similar QA role
  • Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations (HACCP)
  • Commercial awareness
  • Understanding of ISO standards and knowledge of FSC or BRC expected
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Efficient management of time
  • Project Management skills

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 25 per week
