We are looking for a Quality Assurance Coordinator who values excellence and customer satisfaction, to join our small but busy team at our Bermondsey, London Office.
We are an independent business that has been selling artisan cheeses from the Britain and Ireland since 1979. As leaders within our industry, we are a world-renowned brand that sells the finest cheeses to our customers within the UK and around the world.
Food safety is intrinsic to everything we do, and the QA Coordinator’s role is pivotal in ensuring the cheeses we buy and sell meet with Food Safety and Hygiene standards and making sure our products meet our customers’ expectations and demand.
The QA Coordinator’s main purpose will be to oversee all quality assurance procedures and processes, whilst being the main point of contact for providing guidance and support to suppliers and colleagues on quality-related matters.
As a member of the buying team, the role also includes an element of buying holiday cover, project work designed to improve our buying systems (both physical and virtual), and participation in monthly stock counts and month-end administrative duties.
Reporting to the Technical Director, this is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to step into challenging and extremely interesting stand-alone role.
Our Technical Director would love to meet applicants who are:
- Focussed on delivering tasks accurately and consistently on time and have strong organisation and planning skills
- Excellent administrators with meticulous attention to detail
- Confident in dealing with complex communications with all levels of people within a business
- Able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
- Able to anticipate and manage problems
- Scientifically minded, research oriented and have an interest in microbiology
- Interested in food and the latest food trends. Though cheese experience is not essential, your enthusiasm to help us in our mission to improve British Cheese is
- Educated to Degree standard
- Experienced with a minimum of 18 months' work in an environment where Food Safety and Hygiene practices were intrinsic to your role/task (Food manufacturing, retail, production line)
- Previous HACCP or SALSA experience, though not essential, would be viewed favourably
- Competent in Excel and other Microsoft Products such as Word, Outlook and Teams
- Able to work Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00 each week, with occasional weekend shifts depending on business need
Our successful candidate will be offered:
- A basic salary of £28 - £31K per annum (Dependant on experience)

- Conduct quality inspections on incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to ensure product specifications are met
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records
- Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards
Experience:
- Previous experience in quality assurance or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately collect and analyze data
- Knowledge of quality control principles and practices
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
