Job Title: Quality Assurance Automation Tester

Reporting To: Quality Assurance Lead

Location: Basingstoke, with Hybrid working

The job in a nutshell

This hire is part of our transformation toward a modernised, technology driven organisation. You will play a foundational role in assisting the QA Lead with the introduction and implementation of an automation framework to help drive the timeliness and efficiency of release delivery to market.

The ideal candidate for this role should demonstrate excellent knowledge of all aspects of quality assurance processes and release management.

Who you will work with

Internal: Internal: QA Lead, Product Management Team, UX/ UI Designers, Technology Development team and Business Owners.

External: External: External Programme and Development Delivery teams.

What you will do

  • Assist with the identification, assessment and introduction of an automation testing framework that will meet business needs and requirements.
  • Assist with defining and creating automated regression tests using well structured, maintainable code.
  • Ensure that testing activities are being conducted in accordance with the test strategy, to plan and release to the department’s standards.
  • Drive the execution of the test strategy and plan, including the test design, preparation, execution, analysis and reporting activities.
  • Work with the technology team and product owners to build appropriate test plans for different project streams of work.
  • Design tests with re-use in mind to fast-track quality testing of products.
  • Measure test results against Key Performance Indicators.

What you will bring to the role

Experience / Achievements

  • Experience with setting up and maintaining an automation testing framework such as, Cypress.io, RPA, Selenium, Postman, etc.
  • Experience using TDD and BDD frameworks.
  • Experience in writing and maintaining automated integration and UI tests.
  • Strong background in QA and testing processes, procedures, and tools.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with Agile/Lean software development methodologies and DevOps.

  • The ability to identify gaps and opportunity to improve test capability to ensure coverage efficiency.
  • The ability to identify testing solutions to reduce software time-to-market.
  • Solid technical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and present information clearly.
  • High level of precision and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Maintain a good external network in the field of test and evaluation.
  • Developer background: recognises what good quality code looks like (and flags refactoring required / peer reviews needed / individual’s development needs etc.)
  • Knowledge in some or all of the following technologies is desirable: SAP, POS, Success Factors, Hybris, Mulesoft, Microsoft Azure, Adobe (Magento), Amplience, Vue Storefront, Creatio, Akeneo

Qualifications

Degree level in one of the following (or equivalent):

  • Computer Science
