Job description

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Associate to join an expanding team involved in setting up and managing clinical trials that are being conducted at the Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit (ORTU).
Our remit is the delivery of randomised practice changing clinical trials, and some novel respiratory drug development work. Our portfolio includes Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products (CTIMPs), medical device trials, cohort and epidemiological studies, covering pleural diseases, COPD, Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, mechanisms of dyspnoea perception and respiratory sleep and breathing disorders.
This is an important new post contributing to Quality Assurance of clinical research conducted in ORTU. Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team in ORTU you will enhance local Standard Operating Procedures, help to share best practice, identify risks and mitigation strategies. Also, with support of the QA Manager, you will provide local advice, training and support for researchers and trial managers.
It is essential that you are highly organised and have excellent attention to detail, are able to work as a member of a team and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be educated to degree level or hold equivalent relevant experience in a similar field. Experience of working in a similar role and having an understanding of Good Clinical Practice and the regulations and guidelines applicable to clinical trials in the UK would be desirable but not essential.
Whilst the role is a Grade 6 position, we would be willing to consider candidates with potential but less experience who are seeking a development opportunity, for which the appointment would be at Grade 5: £27,131 - £32,348 per annum (pro rata for part time) with the responsibilities adjusted accordingly. This would be discussed with applicants at interview/appointment where appropriate.
The post is part time 0.6 FTE (but 0.5 FTE may also be considered) and fixed-term for up to 1 year in the first instance.
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. You will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application.
Only applications received before 12:00 midday on 14th March 2023 will be considered.
