Job description

Vacancy for 3 apprentices with the Clay Cross Quality Department. The roles will be a cross over between manufacturing and technical quality and will include:-
- Measurement and analysis of manufactured components, subassemblies and finished products in both fabrication and welding environments
- Performance measurement and analysis of finished product to ensure compliance with both legal and specification requirements.
- Calibration of measurement instruments and gauges
- Report writing
- Involvement in technical risk management processes
- Involvement in statistical process control
- Involvement in problem solving processes and techniques
- Involvement with other departments on site in relation to product and process improvement.
In addition, successful candidates will be expected to completed Level 4 qualifications (BTEC HNC) in Mechanical Engineering. This may involve project work that has to be completed in the candidates own time.
- GCSE grade 4 in Maths and English as a minimum
- GCSE grade 4 in Engineering would be beneficial but not essential
- Candidates must be fluent English speakers.
Additional Information
39 hours per week, 05:45-14:15 Monday-Thursday, 05:45-10:45 Friday when on site, hours for college dates will differ.
Candidates will need to be able to travel to both site and college, most likely to be Derby, Chesterfield or Sheffield.
