Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge and an opportunity to work in a fast paced predominantly aerospace supplier with a growing orderbook and portfolio of clients?

We are looking to appoint a Quality and Environmental Coordinator with either relevant industry knowledge and aerospace experience or somebody who is eager to develop to work as part of our quality team within our sheet metal and assembly business at our Dukinfield (Cheshire) site.

About the opportunity

As the Quality and Environmental Coordinator, you will play an integral part in:

The investigation and coordination of responses to non-conformances, compile quality data, proactively working with colleagues to improve quality, drive continuous improvement initiatives, develop and maintain standard work sheets, assist the Quality Manager in maintaining calibration equipment and devices, carry out daily calibration checks, ensure company approvals remain in place (Nadcap etc) and support internal and external audits.

The coordination of all environmental activities, data gathering, actions and plans to maintain our EN14001 accreditation and work with the team to implement the initiatives that reduce our carbon footprint.

You will develop or build on existing knowledge and experience, keeping up to date with best practice and participate in internal and external training. You will also work closely with the quality departments from other Hyde business units, clients and suppliers as part of the wider aerospace supply chain.

As a key member of the quality team, you may be required to work offsite and act up in the absence of the Quality Manager providing a range of quality or environmental reports or other updates to the senior leadership team as required.

Preferred Skills

  • An awareness of a quality management systems (QMS)
  • Understanding of AS9100
  • Knowledge of a quality system or environmental policies would be advantageous
  • An awareness of the importance of environmental policies, drivers, impacts and a desire to make a difference.
  • Excellent communications skills are imperative
  • Must have good team working ethic, be highly pro-active and motivated.
  • IT literate, in particular SAP, Microsoft Project, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills (Lean/six sigma knowledge preferred)
  • The ability to work flexible hours should the business need arise.
