Who are we & what do we do?

The Global Learning Academy (GLA) is British Airways learning function and our colleagues are at the heart of everything we do. We're focused on providing the training that our colleagues need to be their best, because every colleague matters.

The GLA is made up of diverse teams that design and deliver Pilot & Cabin Crew training, Engineering training as well as above-wing and below-wing training for our global airport teams. Additionally, the GLA designs and delivers training for Head Office specialists, Global Engagement Centres and, the GLA also delivers Apprenticeships and Graduate programmes.

How you’ll be contributing?

You will be responsible for monitoring and improving compliance in the delivery of global airport training for above and below wing.

Responsible for leading a team to complete Recurrent observations and monitoring checks, you will be responsible for monitoring and improving compliance in the delivery of airport training for above and below wing. Coaching and mentoring GLA and Line Trainers to ensure the delivery of training meets all applicable requirements. Your oversight will be key to delivering thousands of competent and confident colleagues to our operation every year.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring current, and new training courses for below-wing operations remain compliant with all internal and external requirements, legislation, regulations and BA strategy and procedures.

This opportunity might be right for you if you have…

  • 12 months or more experience in working in airport operations (Above or below wing)
  • Knowledge of quality assurance systems
  • Knowledge of the BA Operations and Corporate Safety, Security and Environment manuals
  • A passion for creating engaging learning experiences for above and below wing audiences.
  • A digital first mindset.
  • Experience in designing learning experiences in the moment of need.
  • Ability to turn excitement for learning trends into effective learning experiences.
  • Creative ideas and an ability to develop these into large scale learning solutions.
  • Desire to join a collaborative team dynamic and crave continuous development.
