Job description
This post is to provide direct support to the Quality Control and systems Manager in the management of the day to day aspects of the Quality Control laboratory and Quality unit. The Quality Control section of Pharmacy department is responsible to ensure pharmaceutical products manufactured in the Pharmacy Technical Services department are compliant with regulatory requirements and safe for sale and supply to other Trust and for patient administration.
- Analysis, review, interpretation, and reporting/quality approval of test results of a wide range of raw materials, packaging components, consumables, intermediates and final products.
- To undertake and/review environmental monitoring of the Pharmacy clean rooms at NPH and other sites as necessary.
- To assist in the establishment, maintenance and updating of comprehensive laboratory standard operating procedures, protocols, worksheets, and documentation and maintenance of full records of testing/review of all raw materials, packaging components, intermediates and finished products as necessary.
- To assist with practical and theoretical training of permanent and rotational staff in the QC section.
- To participate in inter-laboratory testing scheme (Pharmassure Proficiency Testing).
- To carry out any other duties as assigned by the QC and systems Manager and/or Head of Quality.

- Central Middlesex Hospital: our planned care site, hosting a range of surgical and outpatient services and collocated with an urgent care centre.
- Verbally communicates to internal staff (QC/production/aseptic/distribution) any quality related issues and to provide documented evidence/reports.
- Verbally communicates within Technical services team, external suppliers to enquire about raw material certificate documentation required to fulfill GMP.
- Verbally communicate with instrument manufacturers and service providers requesting technical operational documentation and knowledge.
- Deals with complaints from external customers (wards/other hospitals) by verbal/written format.
- For written communication, both paper and computerised systems (word processing/MS excel) are used to present information.
- Responsible for inputting data into a database for trending. The test results are usually transcribed manually onto a QC worksheet.
- Be able to respond to product complaints from health care personnel within and outside the Trust.
- Be able to respond to a variety of organisations and staff plus liaising with the QC Laboratory Manager, reprioritisation of work for self is sometimes required at short notice.
- Be able to respond to deadlines on a regular basis.
- Comply with data integrity policy and procedure.
- Making sure to keep laboratory is inspection ready at all time
- Should be able to compile PQS data for product quality reviews.
