Job summary:
DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Quality Control Technician, located in Blackpool.
The Quality Control (QC) department is responsible for ensuring that the life enhancing products we make are of the highest quality. In the QC department we ensure that our products continue to be safe and effective. As a QC Technician you will be tasked with conducting a whole host of Chemical, Physical and Functional tests on the Raw materials, Intermediates and finished goods that help hundreds of thousands of people every year regain their mobility and vastly improve their quality of life, does this sound like something you want to be part of? You will report into the QC Laboratory supervisor who reports into the wider Laboratory leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing Raw materials
- Testing Finished goods
- Preparing standards and reagents
- Processing samples
- Working with the production teams to ensure continued supply.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education:
- Minimum of a Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) Level 3 qualification in a scientific subject area
- Desired BSc (Hons)
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- Experience of working in a laboratory, this can be experience acquired through education, but must have an understanding of good laboratory working practices.
Preferred:
- Experience in a regulated environment such as Pharmaceuticals or Med Tech laboratories.
- Previous use of analytical instruments such as UPLC and FTIR.
- Understanding of polymer chemistry would be great but not crucial.
Other:
Must be a fluent English speaker with the ability to utilise Microsoft office being able to navigate a document in Microsoft word and use basic formula and functions in Microsoft excel.
There is no expectation for travel routinely within this role however small amounts of travel to attend training courses may be requested.
