Role Purpose

Bureau Veritas is a multinational group with capabilities in an extensive range of commodities, providing independent inspection, sampling and testing services 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.

The purpose of the QC Chemist role is in conjunction with the Senior QC Chemists is to ensure that the laboratory is maintaining and developing high standards. The QC Chemist will be responsible for maintenance and improvement of key processes, as well as working with laboratory staff at all levels to achieve a consistently high standard of analysis across all laboratories in the most effective, productive and safe manner.


Responsibilities will include:
  • Checking of laboratory analysis results
  • To undertake training, auditing and mentoring of laboratory staff and assist in the provision of a consistent training approach for all staff in all laboratories
  • Assist in maintaining our UKAS accreditation by taking part in equipment calibration and testing, and data collection and handling of quality control samples
  • To assist in the identification of suitable new equipment and then the testing, validation and training before passing to production
  • The role will require the QC chemist to work shifts in line with those in the Production team

  • Significant technical knowledge in at least one lab area
  • Ability to interact and communicate with staff at all levels
  • Demonstrable lab experience
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc)
