The Quality Control/Aggregate Testing position requires the successful candidate to be detail orientated and physically fit with the ability to thrive working independently in a fast-paced atmosphere. Must be familiar with the Alberta Transportation Specs for asphalt testing and crushing. Candidate will be expected to work in both field and laboratory environments to test materials. Experience in crusher control and quality control or quality assurance for asphalt is essential. A current drivers abstract must be provided prior to hiring and a minimum Class 5 license is required.
Job Overview and Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspection and testing of aggregate and asphalt materials in accordance with industry standards and regulations
- Safely complete prompt and accurate testing. Keep accurate records and notes, complete data entry and report test results
- Clean, maintain and calibrate testing equipment
- Assist with mix design preparation
- Comply with safe working procedures and practices
- Requires a flexible work schedule including overtime, weekend and out of town work as required during the construction season (May - November)
- Other duties as required
