UK Biobank is seeking an enthusiastic individual to step into the shoes of QA & Test Lead to join them on a mission to improve public health through their biomedical database which contains over 24 petabytes of medical data, stemming from over half a million UK participants.

UK Biobank is a world-renowned biomedical research organisation that is dedicated to improving human health through the use of advanced technology. As a potential employee at UK Biobank, you would have the opportunity to work with some of the most advanced technology in the field of biomedicine, and be part of a team of highly skilled professionals who are committed to making a positive impact on global health. With a diverse range of research projects and a collaborative working environment, UK Biobank is the perfect place for technology professionals to develop their careers and make a meaningful difference in the world.

This role is primarily office based at main offices in Stockport with need for occasional travel to other UK Biobank sites or partner locations. There are some opportunities for remote working. UK Biobank offers a dynamic and innovative culture that is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible in biomedicine. If you are passionate about using your skills and expertise to make a positive impact on human health, then UK Biobank is the place for you.

As the QA & Testing Team Lead, you will be focusing on the full software life-cycle, including aspects like the planning and execution of tests and reporting outcomes. You will be facilitating the team's work with the product owners and developers to clarify requirements and ensure quality. You will also lead the implementation and adaptation of testing processes as UK Biobank embark on their digital transformation. In order to excel in this role, you should have demonstrable experience in leading a team in testing and ensuring quality on complex and business-critical systems, with a broad understanding of enterprise web application delivery and proficiency with associated testing methods, tools, and technologies.

This is the sort of role where you should be willing to lead by example. Strong communication skills, the ability to deal with a diverse range of technical and non-technical stakeholders, and a team-oriented mindset will all help you achieve great things in this role! You can build the plane whilst you're flying it, giving you a substantial level of autonomy.

If you are passionate about utilising your skills to make a real difference in the world, I’m looking forward to speaking with you soon.

If the above has piqued your interest, I am looking forward to receiving your application. Let's have a chat! Alternatively, to view the full job description please click here.
