QA tester Responsibilities:
- Functional testing across the full range of features and products being developed by Unit 2 Games
- Helping to develop test plans alongside feature developers
- Working alongside a fully-remote team of outsourcing partners on a day-to-day basis
- Exemplify best practice and high quality QA standards throughout the studio
- Iterate across all processes to improve efficiency and efficacy of QA
- Regression testing, and assisting with triage on current issues by providing additional information
- Documenting and triaging feedback and bug reports from internal & external players into actionable issues
- Assist QA Lead and management in ensuring that the bug database is representative of the current build(s) of the game and appropriately prioritised
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience of QA within games
- Genuine passion for QA and its role on a team
- Proven track record of performing test plans, with at least one game shipped
- Proactive and able to work autonomously
- Systematic and collaborative approach to problem solving
- Excellent communication skills, including with remote colleagues on a day-to-day basis
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to discern relative priorities of issues and escalate as appropriate
- Comfortable working with command line interfaces where required
- Experience with software used on a daily basis by our QA team: bug tracking software (eg JIRA), wiki software (eg Confluence), test tracking software (eg Testrail)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on a Game as a Service and maintaining a frequent release cadence
- Enthusiasm for UGC titles
- Scripting or modding experience
- Eye for artistic detail
- Experience with a community beta track or player test realm “early access” program
- Automated testing experience
- Management or leadership experience
