Theo James is delighted to work alongside MI Dickson’s once again and aid their search for a Quality Assurance Manager to join their team in South Shields. An extremely successful and popular brand, they have built this success on the Quality of their products including a vast range of Foods for their customers. We are looking for a Quality Manager to join our technical team and support the site Technical Manager in all aspects of technical operations. The role will specifically support all matters of food safety, legality, product quality and compliance with BRCGS & FSA requirements. Job Description
Maintenance and continual improvement of the Quality Management System.
Active participant in the site’s HACCP team.
Manage the site’s internal audits programme and undertake scheduled internal audits.
Monitor and close out non-conformances from internal and third-party audits.
Supply and trend data for complaints from MID retail outlets, wholesale, and other customers.
Manage supplier and raw material approval in liaison with the Supply Chain Manager.
Carry out scheduled traceability and mass balance exercises.
Oversee and manage factory and customer product specifications and labelling.
Oversee and trend the results of the product and raw material testing programmes.
Oversee and trend the results of environmental testing.
Active participation in achieving improved Food Safety Culture Assessments.
Travel locally to audit/assist retail outlets.
Deputise for the Technical Manager.
Skills & experience
· In-depth knowledge of the requirements of BRCGS, HACCP with formal HACCP training.
- Formal auditor qualification, preferably to Lead Auditor standard.
- Thorough knowledge of current food legislation.
- Understanding of microbiological and chemical analyses.
- Good team worker, with the ability to work on their own initiative and a strong communicator.
- Well organised, disciplined, and able to meet deadlines.
- Some knowledge of food retailing.
- Full clean driving licence
