Pertemps are excited to assist our client in recruiting the role of Quality Assurance Supervisor.

Purpose of the role:
To support the QA Manager through managing the QA team to success meeting food safety, quality, and legality, safeguarding the products and enabling future growth.
The first 7/8 months of role to is to enable the new QMS and food safety systems.

Overview of responsibilities:

• Be a key member of the team that will set up and validate the new QMS and Food Safety Plan to BRCGS and FSMA standard.
• Ensure the validation of food safety and quality processes are validated and the correct verification processes put in place for the factory at point of saleable product.
• Manage, develop, and support a QA technician to deliver and grow their career.
• Work with the opposite shift QA supervisor and QAs to meet the requirements of the QMS and food safety plan, through delivering the sites standards for all factory internal audits, e.g. GMP, and standards as detailed in procedures and SOPs. Raise and issue non-conformances to relevant department, supporting the closure.
• To assist in delivery of site standards for visits and audits either through direct input, indirect support and / or organisation of QA team activities.
• With guidance from Line Manager, manage QA activities required to deliver improvement of Technical KPIs e.g. audit of non-conforming processes, complaint investigations, update of swab schedules, GMP audits, glass, and plastic audits.
• Support the food technologists to successful trials and launches.
• Key to the success of our client, is the culture of which we take food safety and quality seriously, of which you will be a key driver.
• To operate in a safe working manner and support the site/business on continuous improvement relating to health, safety, and the environment.

Essential qualification and experience:

• Either a degree in food science with 2 years’ experience or 5 years’ experience in a QA role with at least 1 year I a leadership position.
• Qualified in HACCP and Food Safety and utilised these skills.
• Experience in a high care/high risk environment.
• Excellent communicator and ability to work cross functionally taking their own initiative. Strong and fast acting, willing to challenge the norm.
• Attention to detail.
• Experience of chilled environment making enriched products.
• Experience of validation and verification of QMS systems through introduction of a new production line or in a new factory.
