THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer, to join our growing Product team. Reporting to the QA Lead you'll utilise your knowledge and skills to work directly within our development team on a full product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will be a quality-focused, proactive learner with an interest in emerging green technologies and have a strong background in both manual and automated testing of loosely coupled microservices and front-end web UI.

This role can be worked remotely, with a monthly trip to our Head Office in London or testing facility in Portsmouth.

A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY

  • Building test frameworks
  • Being involved in an agile SDLC
  • Running tests and identifying, reporting and progressing faults
  • Designing and implementing automation tests
  • Integrating test automation into the CI/CD pipeline
  • Writing test scripts for manual testing
  • Doing UAT walkthrough with the suppliers

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Hands-on experience in Automation testing framework and tools on web apps (Selenium, playwright)
  • Software testing across NodeJS, Python, Java, Javascript
  • Experience in web services testing such as REST, SOAP
  • Experience with Cloud services - preferably AWS
  • Programming language - preferably Typescript, javascript, java
  • Experience of Agile software development
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (bitbucket pipeline, GitHub, gitlab etc)

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of performance testing
  • ISTQB qualifications
  • Hands-on experience of SQL, preferably a PostgreSQL flavour. Intermediate level
  • Python
  • Experience in checking SQL statements & queries written as part of data transformation
  • Experience in validating data schemas written for dataset requirements
