Job Outline:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated QA Engineer who is passionate about testing and champions its value in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. As we rapidly expand, you will play a crucial role in an agile development team responsible for Test Analysis, writing business-facing test automation, and performing exploratory testing.
You’ll be working with stakeholders to help refine stories, identify hidden assumptions, write BDD style scenarios to guide development whilst collaborating with developers to ensure we achieved the desired test coverage. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to shape the standards and approach for both functional and non-functional tests as we improve our automated test coverage.
Operating in a cross-functional environment, you'll be the testing specialist within your team, advocating for the customer and maintaining a collaborative approach where everyone is responsible for quality and testing activities.

A bit about you:
As a QA Engineer, you should have a strong passion for software testing and recognise the many other characteristics that contribute to quality beyond functional requirements. You thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, leveraging your analytical skills to identify and address potential issues. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills enable you to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Day to day you'll be:
- Collaborating closely with stakeholders and the development team to analyse and question requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding.
- Performing Test Analysis of functional and non-functional specifications, identifying test scenarios, and creating test cases while considering test data requirements.
- Developing and maintaining business-facing test automation using tools like Cypress or Playwright, with JavaScript as the primary language.
- Adding and maintaining Synthetic Tests to our CI/CD pipeline and monitoring the performance and stability of changes through Datadog.
- Writing and documenting manual test cases where automation is not yet possible or cost-effective.
- Executing both manual and automated test cases, reporting defects, and closely monitoring and tracking their resolution.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance testability and collaboratively actioning improvements with the development teams.
To succeed its likely, you'll have:
- 3 years experience in a similar role, with a solid background in software testing and quality assurance within an Agile environment.
- Strong knowledge of test methodologies and test design techniques, ideally with ISTQB Foundation level certification.
- Experience automating tests in at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, applying object-oriented principles, design patterns, and best practices for writing tests and building automation frameworks.
- Exposure to Application Monitoring tools such as Datadog, including experience monitoring performance regressions and the stability of new releases.
- A continuous learning mindset, keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in software testing and test automation.
