Job description

Oliver Kay Chepstow is the newest addition to the Oliver Kay family. Part of the Bidfresh group, Oliver Kay specialise in fresh produce and provide a fresh and chilled offering both to their own and to Bidfood customers. Acting as a hub, the depot also supplies Bidfood wholesale sites with goods overnight and has its own Quality Assurance team. Oliver Kay operates a seven day telesales, stock and warehouse operation and offers a six day delivery service to its customers

As a Quality Assurance Assistant, you will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and your role will include:

· Daily work within our chilled warehouse to inspect food products; ensuring their compliance with the company’s quality specifications as well as all food safety & legal requirements.

· The identification and reporting of both product and operational non-conformances.

· The control of non-conforming materials and completion/monitoring of corrective actions as required

· The calibration of depot equipment

· Supporting the preparation of both internal and external audits

· Supporting investigation of customer complaints

· Providing a point of contact for the warehouse team for quality issues

· Supporting the Technical Team to drive improvements through the site’s Food safety and Quality Culture Plan

You will be provided with appropriate product training but to be successful in this role you will need possess:

· A keen eye for detail and an accurate and methodical approach to your work.

· The ability to react quickly and effectively to meet targets under pressure.

· Good communication skills as you will need to interact with both other departments and external suppliers

· Computer Literacy

Experience:

· A basic Food Safety, Auditing or HACCP qualification

· Ideally have completed a similar role within either Quality Control or Quality Assurance for a food business

Hours:

The role is for day shift, 40 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7 and will require some Bank Holidays shifts as part of a team rota.
