Job description
The Quality Assurance Technologist is responsible for ensuring that all product and processes comply with food safety, legality, authenticity and quality requirements throughout all stages of the production process.
Main duties:
- Monitoring and upholding of all food safety and legal requirements.
- Assessing quality of fruit throughout the production process to ensure compliance to internal and customer specifications.
- Verifying Critical Control Points (CCPs) to ensure critical limits are being met.
- The Quality Assurance Technologist conducts daily checks of factory processes and procedures to ensure compliance and good manufacturing practices are adhered to.
- The Quality Assurance Technologists are responsible for completing paperwork to a high level of accuracy to record daily QA tasks and audits.
- Understanding of company policies and procedures to enable checking and improve compliance within production.
- Identifying and reporting any quality, food safety or compliance concerns to QA Supervisors and Customer Technical Team as appropriate to enable quick rectification.
- Creating new programmes in the metal detectors and check weighers and troubleshooting issues during production.
- Thoroughly conducting practical internal audits including CCP, GMP, Fabrication, Glass and Hard Plastic etc.
- Collecting and registering product samples for microbiological testing.
- Following the sampling plan to correctly take and accurately register swabs, air plates and water samples.
- Observing personal hygiene practices and reporting of any non-conformance to procedures.
- Operating in a tidy, organised and efficient manner to complete all QA operations and maintain order within the Technical office.
- Retrieving and collating paperwork to facilitate traceability requests.
- Completing and supporting Print Room operations as required.
- Conducting daily Taste Panels as required to support the Taste Panel Coordinator.
- Acting proactively to identify areas for improvement.
- Acting with the customer in mind.
- Support for the wider Technical Team as required.
What you need to be successful:
- Ability to read and write in English
- (Preferable) experience in High Care Food Industry Environment
- (Preferable) experience working with fresh produce
- Proactive individual with high energy
- Patient and understanding

- (Preferable) ability to drive
- (Preferable) experience in the food industry
- (Preferable) experience with Print Room operations and printing/ editing software

Hours and Days of Work:
Wednesday to Saturday 17:30 - 05:30 (Nights) with 1 hour break (split over the course of the day) 30 minutes of which are paid.
Pay:
Starting at £11.40 per hour, paid weekly. Climbing to £12.15 per hour after full training.
