Position Summary
As a Quality Assurance Analyst in our Identification Systems Software Development group, you will manually test, validate, and ensure the operability of complex identification and border management systems that are deployed throughout the world.

What You Will Do
- Design, develop and execute detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans for each test level based on system requirements and design documents;
- Identify, deploy and configure hardware, system components, device drivers and third-party software to create a test environment that is a close replica of the target production environment;
- Analyze test results and identify, log and track all issues (bugs, defects, errors, etc.) and deliver weekly testing status updates to the software project manager; and
- Troubleshoot issues – search log files to find point of failure; try to reproduce the issue; submit your findings via bug tracking tool to the appropriate developer or DBA; monitor issue and ensure it is fixed.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related field
- 1+ year of manual testing experience
- Familiarity with both Agile (Scrum) and waterfall methodologies
- Familiarity with customer service principles/customer service experience
Skills and Abilities
- O/S: Linux or Windows
- Languages: Python and/or Pearl
- Database: PostGreSQL, SQL , Oracle
- Tracking: Jira
- Attention to detail
- Excellent organization/time management skills
Mandatory Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Reliability (Level I) Clearance- Ability to travel occasionally (5-10% annually)
