We design, build, and manage our own 3000km FTTP (Fibre to the Property) network in-house and are one of the leading suppliers making use of several Government funded voucher programmes. We are excited to be extending our network and bringing full fibre broadband to over 10,000 homes and business in the New Forest with connection aimed for February 2024.

The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Finance/ Buying department of Wessex Internet. Reporting into the Procurement Manager you will be responsible for raising and placing orders, dealing directly with suppliers and dealing with inventory. The successful candidate will require exceptional organisational skills and possess the ability to multitask and perform well under pressure.
You will be the first point of contact with our suppliers and negotiating with them to achieve the best price. Dealing with all procurement on an individual and bulk basis. You will also be assisting or covering the warehouse manager when they are on leave. The successful candidate would need at least 2 years of office administrative experience.

Responsibilities
- Ordering materials as directed by the Procurement Manager
- First point of contact for suppliers, working the suppliers to negotiate the best price for all items
- Raise and placing purchase orders with suppliers
- Liaising with supplier on Returns or any defected goods or delivery issues
- Assisting or covering the Warehouse Manager during times of absences
- Liaise and coordinate with logistics and customs agents to ensure timely delivery of goods from overseas
- Maintenance of product lead time to ensure delivery expectations are met
- Ensure stock held is accurate, adjusting if necessary, after investigation
- Calculate inventory requirements to meet likely demand
- Maintenance of products within the ERP system when implemented
- Receipt items into stock and issuing items to vehicles
- Implement a process for tracking and reviewing the wear and tear by item, vehicle and employee
- Maintaining kit lists for each of our fleet Vehicles (facilitation for the work, not the consumables required above)
- Support the day-to-day business procurement needs to meet and exceed internal and external customer needs as required
Requirements
- Experience using accounting Software/ Xero
- Raising and creating invoice and purchase orders
- Previous experience in purchasing stock and negotiating with Suppliers (Advantageous)
- 2 years of office administrative experience
- Confident making key decisions under pressure
- Excellent organisational skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Works well individually and as part of a team
- Have an agile & flexible approach to work

Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on experience
Role Type: Full Time/Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Location: Hybrid / Office based near Blandford Forum, Dorset
Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays
