Job description
A three month internship with an educational/children's book publishing house. Working in a variety of different roles within publishing, but with the primary focus on sales and marketing.
The Intern will be responsible for :
Assisting in sales and marketing activities for Ransom's phonics and reluctant reader book range. This includes the following areas:
- Direct marketing and customer service to UK schools
- Marketing to international schools
- Rights and export to overseas markets
- Market research
- Development of the website and Ransom's new digital platform
- Editorial assistance
Key tasks in this role will be:
- Customer and sales support to schools
- Assisting in the maintenance of publishing systems including databases and bibliographic data for Ransom’s titles
- Keeping online sales sites (ie Amazon) up to date with product information
- Sending out AIs, price lists, samples, screen shots and other marketing items to distributors and customers
- Management of the customer database
- Assisting with the implementation of the marketing plan
- Assisting in the smooth running of the office including telephones and post and order processing at busy times
- Editorial tasks including copy editing and proof reading.

Experience
No experience is required. This is a starting position in publishing working in all areas of the business but with a primary focus on sales and marketing to UK schools. There are considerable prospects for a full time position for the right candidate.
