ABOUT THE ROLE
As our new Journals Publishing Assistant, you will be a key member of our global Publishing Support Team, providing administrative and editorial support across our multi-disciplinary portfolio of academic Journals. You will be supporting the team with:
- The management of existing journals through administrative and research support
- Preparing the regular publishing update reports for Society partner journals covering a wide range of performance measures
- Providing regular data reports and analytics to support and develop Journal strategies
- Organising meetings, attending and taking minutes as appropriate, undertaking catering, travel and room booking arrangements and paying of expenses
- Completing relevant payments and tracking efficiently and accurately
- Ensuring journal home pages are up to date, for example by maintaining Editorial Board details, or adding new data or features
- Maintaining relevant and appropriate gratis subscriptions across a list of titles
- Maintaining the journals contracts repository and maintain best practice in data management
- The acquisition process with preparation of proposals
- Working with other U.S. and UK Journals departments as required to accomplish tasks and enhance communications between NY, Cary, and Oxford, UK.
- Assisting in launch of acquired journals and participate in launch meetings
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
ABOUT YOU
You should be able to demonstrate:
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently
- Experience in an office based environment
- Good knowledge of Excel
- The ability to pick up new tasks and learn new systems and processes quickly
- A good team spirit and the ability to work collaboratively
- Self-discipline with the ability to manage and balance priorities under time pressure
- Good attention to detail and numeracy
- Excellent spoken and written English
