About the Role
As an Editor, you will build author relationships, edit manuscripts, plan publication releases, and secure release highlights. You will work with authors to ensure the accuracy, utility, and currency of the products. Alongside this, you'll comply with analytical schedules, best practices workflow, and publishing standards.
Responsibilities
- Producing material for publication, ensuring all material included is accurate
- Planning, organizing and editing material for publication as discrete volumes/titles
- Liaising with senior team members and others with regards to content and any other issues
- Engaging in author recruitment for both existing and new products in any media
- Taking responsibility for production work and departmental or title administration
- Partnering with authors to assure the timely delivery of manuscripts in appropriate formats.
Requirements
- Have excellent written English, including the capacity to write within strict constraints of house style
- Have some good publishing experience or writing experience
- Be able to demonstrate excellent organizational skills when dealing with multiple priorities, able to think analytically
- Be a natural problem solver, able to collaborate with your team to resolve issues
