General Summary

Bonnier Books UK is looking for an enthusiastic and diligent assistant to join the publicity department, supporting the adult PR team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone serious about getting their start in a publicity and hoping to work across a broad range of titles and genres.

In this role, being an enthusiastic self-starter is key. You will be responsible for a lot of rolling admin and logistics to support the team. You will be well supported by your line manager and other colleagues, but attention to detail, excellent communication and problem-solving are essential.

A team player who is excited to try lots of new things will be best suited to this role. As well as rolling tasks, each day will play out differently and could include completing last-minute mailings, prepping materials for meetings and attending events with authors.

With lots going on at any given time, good time management and prioritisation is vital. Building great relationships with team members, knowing how to set yourself deadlines and when to push back is important.

A passion for books, media and digital spheres is crucial. The role offers progression to exciting campaign work as workload allows and offers excellent collaborative opportunities with a range of award-winning and experienced publicists.

Core responsibilities:

  • Helps manage the team’s day-to-day admin tasks including invoices, budget sheets, calendars and more
  • Regularly updates media and events contacts
  • Leads seasonal opportunities for the teams such as summer reads, Christmas gifting press releases and more
  • Gets to grips with and help manage external databases and tools, such as Cision and Netgalley
  • Works with external agencies such as Reading Agency
  • Supports the team and authors with logistics including travel arrangements and materials for meetings and presentations
  • Contributes to campaigns as required (pitching, press releases, booking travel etc).
  • Manages award and media submissions where necessary
  • Manages general enquiries to the department
  • Logs and circulates press coverage, team department highlights
  • Collaborates with the teams on digital and social media Initiatives
  • Helps organise and attends events, launches and festivals
  • Helps facilitate our book mailings
  • Further collaborative and solo campaign work as the role develops

Qualifications and Experience

  • This is an entry level role
