A great opportunity for an experienced Public Relations Specialist to join Hayfield, a multi-award winning, 5-Star housebuilder based in Solihull.
With a keen interest in housebuilding, business news and the political agenda, you’ll have an eye for what makes a good story and excellent writing standards for press releases, comments, award entries, social media posts and opinion pieces. You’ll need to be able to lead, manage and deliver multiple projects to tight deadlines, and influence senior leaders and stakeholders, by providing clear, honest advice and recommending approaches for both proactive and reactive communications.
You will have a passion for traditional media as well as digital, broadcast and social media, driving positive and successful media coverage for Hayfield.

Main Duties
- Create focused, engaging and beneficial press releases and media content.
- Effectively plan, deliver and manage audience-first internal and external communications.
- Promote brand voice and act as a brand guardian ensuring consistency across all communications.
- Produce dynamic content for corporate bids, award submissions and marketing materials, as necessary.
- Be first point of contact for media and public relations.
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders as well as trade, local, regional and national press, digital and broadcast journalists.
- Work to enhance and protect the reputation of the business, while contributing to the delivery of key strategic objectives.
- Proactively identify potential reputational risks and issues, creating strategies to handle these.
- Undertake the necessary monitoring and evaluation to determine the success or otherwise of communications and public relations activities.
- Assist with the planning, organising and delivery of corporate events and conferences and provide communications support for external conferences and events, as required.
- Collaborate and support marketing activities, developing new ideas to ensure newsworthy insights and coverage.
- Contribute to the overall success of the business in accordance with its aims and objectives.
Key Skills & Experience
- Educated to degree level, or equivalent, ideally in Public Relations/Communications discipline.
- Experience in property/new homes industry required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, including experience in copywriting, proof-reading and an ability to translate technical information into editorial .
- At least 5 years of professional experience in public relations and communications .
- Proven track record developing and implementing successful PR campaigns both at local, regional and national levels.
- Strong, established network of media relationships and contacts, being at ease to act as a spokesperson.
- Adept at building trusted relationships with colleagues, partners and stakeholders .
- Operate confidently at all levels of the business, providing counsel to colleagues and senior management.
- Collaborative self-starter with strong project management capabilities, ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
- Social and digital media savvy, ahead of the curve in latest emerging trends.
- Demonstrate the behaviours required of a communications professional at all times .
