The NHS Health Check programme aims to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in adults, by assessing individuals for risk factors and providing onward referrals to behaviour services or treatment where appropriate. The core focus of this role will be working with providers to ensure that NHS health checks are delivered to a high standard and form part of an effective health improvement pathway. The role will lead the recommissioning of the NHS Health Check contract. This is an exciting opportunity to develop the service, working with partners to identify how to increase uptake of the programme in target groups, including residents from the most deprived parts of the borough and marginalised groups. The role will involve working across the Public Health Division, wider council, ICB, NHS and community partners in the provision and improvement of public health services. A strong commitment to working with partners to tackle health inequalities is expected. About you You will be highly organised and be comfortable working within a fast paced environment where the focus is on the delivery and management of multiple programmes and projects to high standards within tight timescales. You must have excellent communication, partnership, analytical and report writing skills. Ideally, you will have several years’ experience of working with partners to deliver effective programmes, including experience of commissioning services and managing service performance.
