Job description

As a Public Health Education Assistant, you will be a valued and welcomed addition to the Education Team within the health visiting service. This new and exciting role brings an opportunity for those who work with children aged 0-5 years and have an interest in training, quality, developing and supporting staff. By working as part of the education team you will contribute to the learning and development programmes delivered within the service, enabling the workforce to provide evidence-based practice, in line with national and local policies and procedures This will include supporting the delivery of face to face and online training programmes, supervision and assessment of unregistered patient facing colleagues in all aspects of their role.

Band 5 Public Health Education Assistants work closely with the people who use our services, families, friends and carers and play an important contribution in how people experience our services.

You're expected to have a robust knowledge of the healthy child programme, delivering evidenced based interventions and acting as a role model for others. You will communicate and maintain excellent working relationships with all those that use, commission and work within the services delivered. You will support the education leads in training and development of the workforce.

You will undertake direct clinical work for a minimum 20% of their time through supporting an identified district.
