Contract type: Fixed term - 1 year maternity cover

We have a new opportunity for enthusiastic and committed individual to take up an exciting role covering the Start Well work portfolio, including health visiting and school health nursing in our innovative and dynamic public health team.


About the role


The post will play a pivotal role in our day-to-day commissioning, procurement and contract management activities, ensuring performance targets are being met and identifying opportunities for service enhancement. With a focus on helping us deliver the right services to every individual and ensuring value is being achieved, you will work with service providers and system partners to manage the entire commissioning cycle, including the commissioning process for the 0-19 Public Health services for children and families in Oxfordshire from April 2024.


About you


Applicants should have at least two years of experience in a relevant role in which you have developed a comprehensive knowledge of the full commissioning cycle and as well as a degree-level qualification (or equivalent). You will be able to demonstrate the ability to use relevant quantitative and qualitative data to create evidence-based commissioning recommendations and have experience of designing and developing services.


Applicants will be able to demonstrate the ability to work with professionals from a variety of directorates and organisations and will have excellent organisational and communication skills, project management experience plus an ability to work under pressure. Experience of working with NHS commissioners and the voluntary sector would be an advantage.
