An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist in the Adult Community Mental Health Team. We work with people aged 18+with complex and enduring mental health problems.
This post is permanent and full time and will provide the opportunity for the post holder to work in a community setting. You will work closely alongside clinical psychologists, trainee clinical psychologists, cognitive behavioural therapists, and mental health wellbeing practitioners. You will also work within a wider multidisciplinary team with nursing, psychiatry, employment support and occupational therapy colleagues. The service offers psychological assessments, consultation and interventions based on a range of therapeutic models, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing therapy (EMDR) and mentalisation based therapy (MBT).
You will be supported and trained to offer individual psychological assessments, structured interventions and co-facilitate group interventions and consultation. The role also involves supporting the management of referrals and waiting lists. You may also have opportunities for audit, research, and further training. You will receive weekly supervision from a psychologist and opportunities to gain valuable experience for those interested in a career in Clinical Psychology.
