Job description
Cardiff and Vale UHBs offers an exciting opportunity to join the launch of a new service covering Inherited Bleeding Disorders (Lifespan), Inherited Anaemias (Lifespan) and Adult Metabolic Conditions. The post will be for a permanent, full-time, Band 8b HCPC Registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join an established multi-disciplinary team and provide specialist psychological expertise to children and adults living with a range of inherited conditions, and their families. It is essential for this post to hold a Postgraduate Practitioner Doctorate in Psychology and to be a HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist.
The applicant will be a highly valued member of the Adult Health and Neuropsychology department where we encourage collegial working and actively promote a culture where open dialogue about improving inclusion and diversity for both service users and staff is welcomed and celebrated.
Psychological skills are highly valued within this lifespan service. There is an opportunity for direct client work, working with children, young people, adults and older adults, consultancy, innovation, service improvement work, skills training and research/audit. You will be working as a member of a small Specialist Psychology Team within the wider established multidisciplinary team (including Consultant Haematologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Physiotherapists, Medical Social Worker, Play Specialist, Youth Worker and an Assistant Psychologist), and will cover both South, West and Mid-Wales
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
