Job Advert Description
Protecting Vulnerable Persons Investigator
An opportunity has arisen for a PVPI (Protecting Vulnerable Persons Investigator) to join the Investigation Department within Swansea & Neath Port Talbot BCU. The successful candidate must be able to work well individually and as part of a team to meet the requirements of the BCU and wider force area.
Core duties and essential qualities include:
- Obtaining statements from witnesses
- Speaking to victims of sexual offences which include taking a first account.
- CCTV enquiries for ongoing investigations.
- Any further enquiries identified to assist in the investigation.
- Safeguarding of vulnerable persons.
The role also requires liaising and sharing information with our external partners and other police forces, being part of a core group of professionals working together to identify actions to prevent harm and safeguard vulnerable persons. The role requires a high level of professionalism. This role will require weekend duties and afternoon cover on a rotational basis subject to the PVPI role requirements, and due to the nature of the role is suitable for part time working.
The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.
