Who are we and what do we do?
The BBC Proms is the biggest classical music festival in the world. We run over 100 live events over 2 months in the summer at the Royal Albert Hall in London and venues around the UK. Nearly everything we do is broadcast across BBC Radio, TV and online. We are a creative, innovative festival that connects with audiences around the UK and across the globe.
You would be part of a dynamic team that looks after Live Events, Marketing, Learning, Communications, Publications and Business. You will build skills in the Live Events Team and get the chance to work at events.
In any single week at the BBC Proms you could be working on events for singer Cynthia Erivo, the London Symphony Orchestra with conductor Simon Rattle, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, sitar-player Anoushka Shankar and the BBC Orchestras and Choirs. Main ResponsibilitiesWe’re looking for Event Co-ordinators to join the Live Events Team. It will give you the opportunity to work as part of a small team that puts on all the concerts and events for the BBC Proms season at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Your main role is to help plan and co-ordinate the detailed logistics of each concert through to the running of events on site for live audiences and broadcast on Radio and TV.

Are you the right candidate?We are looking for a positive team player who:
- Shows an in-depth knowledge of how orchestras and choirs work.
- Has experience of working on live classical music events
- Has strong organisational skills and a good eye for detail.
- Works and communicates collaboratively with a wide range of people.
- Has a good knowledge of general office IT packages.
- Shows an awareness of Health and Safety issues for live events
You will be required to work long hours and some weekends on events across the year – particularly over the duration of the Proms season. Some days each week during the festival will be spent working on site at events.

Contract type: 3 x 6 month attachment/fixed term contract to start on 17th April
