Job Introduction

Corporate Systems & Corporate Digital Applications within BBC Technology Group sets the technology strategy and delivers and supports solutions to optimise the operational running of, and alignment with, the strategic direction for the BBC’s business critical functions including HR, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Resource Scheduling, Safety and Workplace.

Our work touches everyone who works for and with the BBC including BBC Staff, our contingent workforce, the general public and our suppliers.

We now have an exciting new opportunity to join our team as a Projects & Change Analyst for an initial fixed term of 9 months. You'll be reporting into the Head of Projects and Portfolio Management where you will be a key liaison between the Project Managers and the Senior Management team.

Main Responsibilities

Your primary goal as a PMO Analyst will be to support the Head of Projects and Portfolio Management to actively plan, shape and optimise the Corporate Systems portfolio.

You'll be involved in creating monthly portfolio reporting, supporting the change portfolio and assisting with audit and governance reviews of projects.

We are looking for a strong communicator as you will be key to maintaining open and effective communication with Project Managers and stakeholders.

Are you the right candidate?

Essential

  • Experienced in data gathering and analysis using a range of tools and applications including structuring and translating data into the meaningful information for the target audience.
  • Strong communication skills (spoken, written and listening) together with an ability to present information accurately and concisely.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and manage a range of relationships in a complex environment.
  • Experienced in supporting project delivery or business change management activities and committed to career development in this area.
  • Knowledge of project management terminology, tools and techniques.
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative or as part of a team - turning ideas and strategy into tangible realities, outcomes and processes.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with demonstrable experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines and managing a high workload with conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality and able to ensure documents are consistent in rationale, language, terminology and style.
  • Ability to translate project/programme/change requirements into clear language.
  • Flexible approach to work with a focus on delivery to deadlines and high standards.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with tact and discretion.
  • Strong Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word) skills.

Desirable

  • A recognised project - Lean (Six Sigma Green Belt) - or change management qualification; or demonstrable career development activities.
  • Has supported a minimum of two projects with a budget of £10k+.
  • Experience and understanding of digital corporate communications tools.
  • Knowledge of the media sector and broad understanding of project delivery in a broadcast/media environment.

Package Description

Band: C
Contract type: Fixed Term Contract 9 Months
Location: London preferred but flexible for the right candidate (we have teams in Cardiff, Salford, Belfast, Birmingham and London)
